Appointments are available only for the current month, with five available spots per month. New appointments will not be made available until the following month.
Please book online, or call and schedule an available appointment over the phone.
If one is not available, you can:
wait for a cancellation,
pay express fees to skip appointments altogether,
or wait until the following month.
Walk-in welcome for anything that does not require complex repair or service. On the spot repairs, ribbon installation, inquiries, and purchases DO NOT need appointments.
In order to keep things fair due to high volume, we will not allow appointment scheduling beyond the current month. If you have urgent work and cannot wait, or cannot get an appointment, you will have to pay the express time and a half fees. Do note that it can be economical it if your machine does not need a lot of work.

Late fees are $50 which will be due on your next visit.

The end goal is to encourage an appreciation of history, and to cultivate an interest in the preservation, restoration, and use of antique typewriters as a tool for business and creativity.
In addition to this, we wish to help foster a community of creative individuals seeking unique outlets for artistic expression.
Each machine is carefully worked to a high industry standard ensuring both the preservation of the machine, as well as mechanical functionality to the fullest possible extent; including flexible attention to details and a level of care that is tailored to suit every client’s varied and unique needs, lifestyles, and workflows.
OUR WARRANTY:
Your Typewriter is guaranteed for 90 days from the date of pickup and if presented within 90 days. Any part or parts (not including rubber, ribbon, or cleaning) which may become unserviceable through ordinary wear and not through accident, misuse, or neglect will be replaced and any necessary adjustments made without charge. Following the period of 90 days, any parts that may break through ordinary wear will be replaced at the cost of parts only (and not labor); as well as any adjustments that fall out of true, for one year from the date of pickup.

Here’s why the waitlist is gone, January 2026
The waitlist has been running for about five years, keeping track of customers in line for repairs, and has sat at around 90 people for much of that time. As volume at the shop increases, the waitlist became less and less effective. A lot of people need machines back, but cannot afford express fees, and a lot of people decide to do express fees. Not to mention the need to dedicate time for inventory machines, complex restorations, and dealing with people who do not call back or respond to contact. These factors make it unreasonable to have a queue that spans multiple years, and only increase wait time for customers.
We understand that the new system is probably not going to please everyone, but neither did the old system. Instead of a waitlist, we are allowing people to book a maximum of five appointments per month to control the flood of work that comes into the shop. Despite only five appointments, we usually have 20 or more machines at any given time. Preventing people from booking ahead to other months ensures that people who need priority and cannot afford a priority cost have a more fair and consistent chance to get an appointment without waiting two or three years (average time to clear the waitlist).
For rushed orders and walk-ins, we still offer the same time and a half rate (1.5x) to cut any appointments and lists. As compensation to those who waited longest, we took the top of the list and allowed immediate drop-off.
We are a small shop handling large volume, and are still tweaking things to make sure we can get to every one of our hundreds of backlogged machines. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
