AIWA TP60 Mini Reel To Reel Recorder

$250.00
Sold Out

Cosmetically, this is a very nice example of the rather obscure Aiwa recorder. This is a Japanese-made reel to reel Dictaphone that was popularized through media such as “Mission Impossible.” There are a few paint chips and scuffs that have been covered over by the previous owner. It comes with the original lid with no cracks in the viewing window, and the original fabric carrying case.

The machine had significant damage from leaky batteries, but the battery bay has been rebuilt with new wiring. A few minor adjustments were made, but otherwise the machine is largely original. It plays and records, but sounds rather awful. Very awful actually, but that’s what you get from cheap rim-drive tape recorders. These are very seldom in working condition, so it’s quite a special piece if you enjoy collecting useless devices.

Power rewind also works.
