RARE Erika Model M in QWERTY

This is the legendary Erika M, known to many as the most advanced portable typewriter ever created. It was made in Germany in the late 1930s and remains an unrivaled piece of mechanical prowess to this day.

What’s unique about this already scarce machine is the QWERTY keyboard made for export to the US and UK markets. This is not a German YZ swap, this is the real deal!

The Model M is the flagship of all flagships, featuring Euro and US standard line spacing, advanced carriage maneuverability, easy to use key set margins and tabs, as well as automatic double letter kerning for e m p h a s i s. Oh, and it has the finest level key top action of any level key top machine, puts the corona 5 series to utter shame.

Comes with the original case and a modified handle from the precious owner, as well as the original factory spools and a fresh ribbon. This machine has been in my personal collection for a while, but is a welcome addition to any collection! The rubber is original, but it feeds paper flawlessly, with an ease that rivals even the smoothest paper feed (Olympia SG, Remington Upstrikes, Royal Standards), it’s butter smooth. The rest of the machine has been cleaned and adjusted, and works to the complete definition of perfection. The only defect being finish damage on the right end, which is good for you because it keeps my price lower! I have attached a wonderful YouTube video on this very machine.
