RESTORED 1923 Corona 3

$550.00
Sold Out

This is the 1923 Improved Corona 3 folding typewriter. It was made during the last year of the 3 bank machines before the Corona 4 took to the world. What makes it so special is the fact that it was the first commercially successful massed produced portable typewriter. Despite its light weight and dainty appearance, it packs a punch. The text is sharp and bold, as if to say “respect me for my work.”

This particular machine has seen a thorough servicing, cleaning, and adjusting, and features ALL NEW RUBBER from top to bottom. That’s right, new feet, a new feed roller, AND a new rubber platen. Suffice to say with (did I mention) a new ribbon, it is typing like a dream.

That isn’t the end of the good news. The case is also in superb condition, though worn. It comes with the original owners manual, a sales tag, a warranty card, AND an advertising pamphlet. The ultimate collectors item…or so I would call it, but I strongly believe that these machines deserve to be used. That is why this machine has been so carefully worked with to ensure it types perfectly right out of the box.

And boy does it type. It has a feathery light action with a pleasing strike and a swift rebound. It has a similar feel to the full sized corona standards, which if you have used, you’ll know is unique and nice.

The only blemishes include a few chipped paint marks by the shift and figure lock keys.
