Underwood 21
This isn’t the first time I’ve had one of these chunky workhorses for sale. This Underwood 21 is actually an Olivetti Studio 44, made under the Underwood label. This particular machine has a brand new rubber platen, and the feet and feed rollers are still soft and supple. It has been fully cleaned, serviced, and adjusted, and comes ready to type right out of the box with a fresh ribbon. It also comes with it’s worse-for-wear carrying case, but the machine itself is a stunner. The paint is in near perfect condition, and there’s hardly a spot of surface damage on the metal insides. Everything functions absolutely perfectly.
These machines are a little heavy to the keys, so you’ll have to press a little harder than your average Olivetti. The spacebar is also very skinny, and some typists don’t like that!
